Vimeo Plugin
Pushes Descript exports from Google Drive into the existing iDD Vimeo library
- multi-language captions, title and description, gated source-file replacement, and new-video upload with folder placement - driven by a persistent Google Sheet manifest read through the Scribe plugin.
Requirements
-
The Scribe plugin is a hard prerequisite. Drive downloads and Sheets read/write are delegated entirely to it. Without the Scribe plugin installed and authenticated for Google Drive and Sheets, none of the workflows can run.
-
A Vimeo personal access token with scopes public private edit upload video_files, supplied one of three ways - the Vimeo Access Token config field, a 1Password secret reference (op://...) in the 1Password Secret Reference config field (needs the op CLI; with multiple 1Password accounts also set the 1Password Account config field), or ~/.config/vimeo-plugin/config.toml with access_token or op_ref. See /vimeo:setup.
-
Node.js 18 or later. The MCP server dependencies (including @modelcontextprotocol/sdk and the vimeo library) are installed automatically into the plugin data directory by the SessionStart hook on first use. No manual npm install is required.
Setup
Run /vimeo:setup once. It verifies the token and creates or locates the manifest Sheet.
Commands
-
/vimeo:reconcile - read-only audit of manifest versus Vimeo
-
/vimeo:sync-captions - apply multi-language caption files
-
/vimeo:sync-metadata - apply title and description
-
/vimeo:replace-source - replace a source file, double-confirmed
-
/vimeo:upload-video - upload brand new videos, optional folder placement
Safety
Every push is dry-run-then-approve. Source replace is double-confirmed and records the prior version first. Failures are reported loudly and never hidden.
